Service coupons that go straight to a customer’s wallet.

Fossaris lets dealership staff send a service coupon to a customer they already know. The customer taps once and saves it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. No app to download, no account to create, no password.

The whole thing, start to finish

Four steps. Two of them belong to the dealership and two of them take the customer about ten seconds.

  1. A salesperson or service advisor writes the coupon

They pick a customer from the dealership’s own records and choose a service — an oil change, a tire rotation, whatever that store wants to offer. It takes about a minute.

  2. The customer gets an email from the dealership

One message, from the store they bought from, containing one link. Nothing to fill in and nothing to sign up for.

  3. They tap once and save it to their wallet

The link opens the coupon. From there it goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, where it sits alongside their boarding passes and store cards.

  4. An advisor scans it at the service drive

The barcode on the pass opens the redemption screen with the code already filled in. The coupon redeems once. A second attempt is refused by the server, not by the screen.

Why a dealership would use it

Reaching customers who stopped coming back

Every store has them: people who bought a vehicle and were never heard from again. They did not choose another dealership so much as drift away from this one. A coupon written by name, from the salesperson who sold the car, is a reason to make contact that is worth something to the customer.

A coupon that is there at the right moment

Paper coupons are lost by the time they matter and email gets buried. A pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is still there in three months, in the place people already look for their boarding pass.

Nothing for the customer to install

No app, no account, no password to reset. The customer never authenticates at all — the link they were sent is what identifies the coupon. Anything more would put a login between a service department and a service visit.

Where this stands

Fossaris is in private pilot with one dealership. It is built and run by Foundry & Grit, LLC, a single-member Alabama limited liability company in Gadsden, Alabama. If you run a store and want to see it, the fastest route is an email.
